This Fragrant Rose Garden In France Is Now Central To The World Of Dior Skincare

Head to Granville in the north of France and you’ll find Dior’s latest launch: the Dior Rose Garden. To the French house, this is far more than just a field in which to grow roses for its beauty offering, it’s a statement about its future. Each element of this plot of land has been carefully thought about and planned. From the meticulously analyzed soil and plant choices to the painstakingly planted roses, the rose garden represents Dior’s mission statement for its future in skincare.

Purchased two years ago, after a five-year search for a location with the right soil, the fields were reconstituted and planted with 11,000 roses. Tens of thousands more plants followed on the seven-hectare site, all of which have been grown without pesticides and using green fertilizers. The agroecological transition experts at Biosphere helped Dior to design a garden for the future, with a focus squarely on regenerative cultivation. Not only does the approach have a positive impact on biodiversity and the health and richness of the soil, but it also preserves the integrity of the Rose de Granville – the key ingredient in Dior’s latest skincare launch, Dior Prestige La Crème. 

The cream harnesses the self-regenerating properties of the flower. Once the roses are picked, they go straight into a laboratory built on-site, where a high-tech extraction process begins to cultivate the active ingredient it contains. The rosapeptide has a unique molecular spectrum that works on eight youth biomarkers – including collagen, hyaluronic acid, and ceramides – in an effort to turn back the clock for the three layers of tissue that make up the skin. Aside from this amped-up approach to anti-aging, Dior has continued in its mission to be more environmentally kind: the product is housed in a refillable glass jar, and consumers can access in-depth product details via a QR code, rather than a paper leaflet.

The rose is a key ingredient in Dior Skincare.

 

To the side of the fields is the heritage garden. Small but rich, it has been designed to preserve biodiversity and is home to a small pond that attracts birds and insects – both crucial for the ecosystem. By 2030, Dior intends that all 42 of its gardens will operate in the same organic way as the rose garden in Granville. It will serve as the blueprint for all other Dior gardens, as well as a symbol of the house’s investment in nature – a commitment that’s set to keep growing.

    One of the most expensive facial creams but it's money worth spending. I bought it from Myer. The salesperson was so nice and helpful and she has given me a few samples of the serum so I can get more benefits off the line. The cream can last for months. Best for harsh winter weather.
